This year, JMP Medical delivered a mobile MRI unit with the Siemens Healthineers Free.Star system to Kigali, Rwanda. This project demonstrates how innovative mobile solutions can increase access to high-quality diagnostic imaging in regions where it is needed most.
An Impressive Journey Across Continents
The MRI unit traveled an extraordinary route to reach Rwanda:
- Poland – Port of Antwerp, Belgium – 1 week of road transport from the factory to the seaport.
- Antwerp – Mombasa, Kenya – 5 weeks by sea, bringing the unit closer to East Africa.
- Mombasa – Kigali, Rwanda – 2 weeks by road, crossing three countries to reach its final destination.
This multi-stage transport required careful planning and coordination, highlighting JMP Medical’s expertise in delivering mobile diagnostic solutions worldwide.
